Thornton Beach Holiday Park

Thornton Beach Holiday Park offers a relaxed beachfront camping experience between the Pacific Ocean and the Rangitaiki River, making it particularly appealing to campers, motorhome travellers, anglers and road trippers looking for a quieter Bay of Plenty stay. The park has 78 campsites, and every campsite includes both power and water, with sites suitable for tents, motorhomes and other camping setups.

With power and water included on every campsite and direct access to the beach and river environment, Thornton Beach is particularly well suited to travellers who value simple, practical touring facilities in a genuine coastal setting. Campers have access to shared amenities including a modern ablution block with family-size showers, designed to make showering easier for parents travelling with children.

Pets are welcome on campsites from after Easter until mid-December, subject to park approval and conditions, but are not accepted during peak periods, school holidays or public holidays.

Guests also have access to a playground, jumping pillow, BBQ facilities and boat ramp. High-speed WiFi is also available on a prepaid basis, while reception stocks a selection of basic supplies for added convenience.
