Details
Hibiscus Surf School is a family-oriented surf school driven by a small, passionate team of carefully selected instructors and the local community. We have been in operation for over 15 years, with specific expertise in the dynamic ocean and weather conditions from Main Beach to Tay Street, Mount Maunganui.
Our overall goal is to provide the local community and visiting tourists with safe, reliable surf lessons. We take pride in our community involvement and are passionate about providing ocean experiences to those that might not otherwise have the opportunity.
We run Adaptive Surf Days in collaboration with Parafed Bay of Plenty, as well as offer private adaptive surf lessons and free paddle board rentals to local disability carers. We also successfully run a mental health programme - Salty Sessions - supporting the mental wellbeing of rangatahi that might not otherwise have access to surf lessons and the incredible benefits of saltwater therapy.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations
If the customer requests to cancel 7 days before the lesson, a full refund will be provided. Within 7 days, under certain circumstances, at the discretion of management, a refund or reschedule may be granted.
If the lesson is cancelled by management due to uncontrollable events, the customer will receive a guaranteed full refund or option to reschedule.
No refunds will be provided for any orders booked through a third party.
Kids Programme, Adult Programme, and Multi Day Package products will receive credit for any cancelled sessions including cancellations 24hrs in advance. Under certain circumstances, at the discretion of management, a full refund or reschedule may be granted.
Rescheduling
Must be 24hrs in advance if requested by the customer to receive a guaranteed reschedule.
If requested less than 24hrs, no guaranteed refund or reschedule will be given. Under certain circumstances, at the discretion of management, a refund or reschedule may be granted.
Reservations
Must be 24hrs in advance and deposit paid if requested by the customer to confirm a booking.
If less than 24hrs, there is no guarantee on lesson availability. Under certain circumstances, at the discretion of management, a refund or reschedule may be granted.
Vouchers
Must be redeemed within 1 year / 365 days.
If the voucher expires, it can be extended within a year of the expiry date for a fee of 50% of the original voucher total. Under certain circumstances, at the discretion of management, a full refund or reschedule may be granted.
If the lesson is cancelled by management due to uncontrollable events, the customer will receive a guaranteed full refund or option to reschedule.

Waivers/Liability
Hibiscus Surf School is committed to providing fun, safe and professional surfing tuition for all ages and abilities. When booking any Hibiscus Surf School Limited product/activity, the customer acknowledges that there are risks involved in the products/activities provided and takes full responsibility for any incidents that take place. The customer understands that Hibiscus Surf School Limited products/activities require a certain level of health and fitness which may vary depending on ocean/weather conditions. It is the customers responsibility to advise the staff of any medical or health conditions that may require special attention.
While all precautions are taken for all products/activities, the customer is aware that there is always an element of risk involved. These include injury from the equipment, environment, and people. Hibiscus Surf School will not be held responsible for any injury or damage to the equipment, environment, or people. If any equipment is damaged during usage, the customer will be responsible for all costs required to repair/replace the equipment. The customer also consents to Hibiscus Surf School Limited having the legal right to use any photographs taken during all activities for marketing or business purposes in any media format.
When completing a waiver, the customer acknowledges that Hibiscus Surf School Limited has informed the customer about the responsibilities, challenges, and risks that may be involved in the activity.
